Mary Lee is thrilled to be making her Azuka debut. She was last seen in EgoPo's The Diary of Anne Frank. She has worked with many Philly companies. Favorite previous roles include Aimee in EgoPo's Hell, Mistress Quickly and Lady Mortimer in Lantern's Henry IV, Part I, Joan in Flashpoint's Far Away, and Sharla in Theatre Exile's Killer Joe which won a Barrymore for Best Ensemble. Kimberly is delighted to be returning to work with Azuka! Kimberly is the 2011 KCACTF Irene Ryan National Finalist and the recipient of the National Partners Theatre Classical Acting Award. Kimberly earned her Master’s Degree in Theater from Villanova University.

Delanté is a graduate of Arcadia University. He has been working as both an actor and teaching artist. Genne is a Philadelphia native and playwright. Hope Street and Other Lonely Places, her first full-length play, was a 2011 Eugene O'Neill national conference finalist. Hope Street was first developed by Azuka Theatre in its 2009 Spotlight Series. Genne’s short plays and monologues have been featured by Azuka Theatre, Flashpoint Theatre Company, MERGE at the Annenberg, Madhouse Cabaret, the Philly Fringe Festival, and LIVE at Kelly Writers House (WXPN). Genne is co-producer of Queer Memoir, a New York City-based storytelling series, which partnered locally with First Person Arts in 2010 and the Free Library of Philadelphia in 2011. She is also a recipient of a 2011 Leeway Foundation Art and Change grant. Genne earned her BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts before returning to Philadelphia where she joined the staff of Philadelphia Young Playwrights as General and Program Manager; the organization also produced her first student play in 1999. Genne currently resides in San Francisco.

Kevin is Producing Artistic Director of Azuka Theatre, where he been a member since he appeared in Azuka’s first production La Rue des Faux. For Azuka he has directed productions of Act A Lady, Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom, Nerve, Whisky Neat, Greek Active, Kid Simple, Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Barrymore Nomination; Best Director of a Musical, Philadelphia Weekly), Azuka One-Acts, Four, The Boys and Sincerity Forever. Other credits include Say Goodnight, Gracie (Act II Playhouse) The Rocky Horror Show, Club California (Arcadia University) Iron Kisses (Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Theater Festival) and The Shoes (Philadelphia Fringe Festival). Robert has been lucky enough to spend the last 20 years sound designing and composing, and has been honored with an OBIE award for Sustained Excellence in Sound Design and a Tony Award for Fela! He’s been a Philly resident for 2 years, and has enjoyed creating designs for PlayPenn, the Arden, Interact, The Wilma, PLTC, Elastic Theatre and Act II; further flung credits include Lincoln Center, The National Theatre of England, The Joseph Papp Public Theatre, MTC, and Sundance. He’s also married to a former John Deere Catalog Model whom he loves, along with his son Niall, more than any work he's ever done.

Janelle is a graduating senior at Drexel University. She has designed for Drexel University and around the city. Credits include: 12th Nite (Drexel), Kimberly Akimbo (Theatre Horizon), Rent (11th Hour/Drexel), Our Town (Drexel), Que[e]ry (Temple), and Revolution and a Sandwich (The Shakedown Project). Janelle also finds herself stage managing from time to time for shows like The Poet Laureate of Capitalism (Drexel/Riot Group), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Drexel) and Jonathan (Shakedown Project). She looks forward to graduating and beginning a mess of grad school applications.

Christopher makes sound, music, and now pictures – as a theater artist, composer and guitarist. In 2011, he received the Barrymore award for Outstanding Original Music and Sound Design for In the Next Room, or the vibrator play (Wilma Theater); and in 2010, the Outstanding Sound Design award for Azuka's production of The Long Christmas Ride Home. Upcoming projects include: Angels in America at the Wilma; How I Learned to Drive with Theatre Horizon, and Mr. Hart & Mr. Brown at Peoples Light. Avista was founded in 2007 as a properties design and construction firm. Avista specializes in custom construction, upholstery, soft goods construction, and also owns a lighting and prop rental house in Norristown. Avista's work has been seen at Azuka Theatre, Flashpoint Theatre, Theatre Horizon, and Drexel University. Avista is in its fifth season as resident prop team at Act II Playhouse, its third season at InterAct Theatre, and will be joining the design teams at Theatre Exile, 1812 Productions and Bristol Riverside for the 2011-12 season. Michele is an Associate Professor of Drama at Washington College (MD), from which she earned a B.A. in English. She is also an Associate Artist and Dramaturg for PlayPenn, the annual new play development conference based in Philadelphia. She has worked on over 150 new and established plays in her professional career. Her work on Sam Shepard’s rewrite of Buried Child (directed by Gary Sinise) and Dale Wasserman’s One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (directed by Terry Kinney and starring Gary Sinise) earned her two Broadway credits and participation in the Tony Award for Best Revival of Cuckoo’s Nest. She has guest dramaturged at Philadelphia’s Arden Theatre Company, Theatre Exile, Azuka Theatre and 1812 Productions as well as at South Coast Rep, the Atlantic Theatre Company, Victory Gardens and Next Theatre, in addition to her staff time at Actors Theatre of Louisville (1992-95), Steppenwolf Theatre Company (1995-2000) and Philadelphia Theatre Company (2000-2004). Dr. Volansky has served as an artistic consultant for the TCG playwright residency program, a reader for the Eugene O’Neill Center’s National Playwrights Conference, as well as a grants review panelist for Philadelphia-area arts organizations. She is the 1999 inaugural co-recipient of the Elliot Hayes Award for Dramaturgy and was the President of LMDA, the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (2002-2004). Volansky’s book on playwriting and collaboration with Bruce Graham entitled The Collaborative Playwright was published in March, 2007 by Heinemann Press. She holds an M.A. from Villanova University and a Ph.D. from the University of Hull (England); her dissertation explored the intersection of theater and politics in the work of critics Kenneth Tynan and Frank Rich.

Adam is extremely grateful for the opportunity to work here at Azuka. Adam is a graduate of Arcadia University where he studied Theatre and French and performed in The Glass Menagerie, Criminal Hearts, and The Rocky Horror Show, amongst others. Lauren is thrilled to be returning for another season with Azuka! She stage managed Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom and the terrible girls last season as well as Act A Lady this year. Other local credits include This Is How It Goes (Room 6 Theatre), The Winter’s Tale (Delaware Shakespeare Festival), A Christmas Carol (Walnut Street Theatre). She served as the ASM for Art (Act II Playhouse). She also serves at the Production Manager for Plays & Players Theater. She’s a graduate of Syracuse University’s Stage Management program. Amy is excited to be working with Azuka for a second time! After graduating with a Chemistry degree, she got her start in performing arts while working on Hidden City Philadelphia. Since then she has gone on to work with the amazing companies of Theatre Horizon, Flashpoint Theatre Company, Theatre Exile, White Box Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe, and the Kimmel Center. When she's not in a theater, she likes to go to the movies and watch TV on DVD for hours. Thank you to the Philly theater community for being so wonderful!
