A queer scholar of fringe spiritual movements is drawn in by the mystery of an ancient manuscript. Following intuitive pleasure, and truths that his own trans experience reveals he begins to crack the code of this 800 year old text. But the more his methods reveal, the farther he strays from scholarship that could be recognized by the academy. As Linden reaches for the past, a 13th century community of queer healers and artists gather for the Solstice feast. Their rituals, rites of transition, medicine and pleasure magic, mark time as their lives unfold in perplexingly compassionate ways, but the future looms violently in the background. As the wisdom of their community becomes threatened perhaps the time is approaching to record what they know. In dreams the past and present channel each other to keep magic alive.
