Community Stories Public Performance!

  • Free Library of Philadelphia - Walnut Street West Branch 201 S. 40th Street Philadelphia, PA, 19104 United States (map)

Come gather for the culminating event of our first session of Community Stories!

This is a staged reading performed by Philly actors along with the community members who have participated in this program for the past several months.

One day an angel, Bethany, comes to try and "help" the people in the community, however, she has a limited understanding of what would actually be helpful. As the play unfolds, she learns more about the community and how to listen in order to broaden her perspective and actually see those around her.

The story centers the West Philly community and the library, following characters who live in the neighborhood and are in community with each other.

At the end of the show, there will be an open mic event where audience members and folx from the community can participate!

The William Penn Foundation provides lead support for this program.
