Teaching Artist
Mia Donata Rocchio is a Philadelphia based multi-disciplinary storyteller, theatre artist, and arts educator. Their art is built on the foundation of storytelling and expression as matters of health. She believes that engaging artistically builds internal stability, which then has the power to ripple out, affecting collective behavior, collective action, and eventually collective identity. To make art is to shape culture. Mia’s work aims to create more space for communities and center stories that have not historically been uplifted and shared. Mia has been involved in several commissioned performances with various organizations throughout Philly including, The PMA, The Please Touch Museum, The Philadelphia Flower Show, Young Audiences of New Jersey, The Painted Bride Art Center and more. Mia has two degrees in acting and performance.
